Spark the connection with your dog with our three-fold approach to dog training

Our Approach

At the heart of successful teaching and learning experiences—and the bedrock of any relationship—is trust.

At OkayCharlie! we believe trust is the basis of effective dog training, laying the groundwork for a fulfilling partnership. Our approach combines humane and science-based methods with practical, joy-filled training techniques. Training with us goes beyond commands and cues; it’s about understanding and communicating with your canine friend, transforming challenges into avenues for mutual growth and connection.

Our threefold approach:

  1. Knowledge: Drawing from the latest science, we provide efficient training and essential insights.

  2. Skills: We impart practical skills for a harmonious coexistence with your four-legged family member.

  3. Heart: Every interaction is an opportunity to strengthen the emotional bond, nurturing trust and companionship

My Journey: From Dance to Dog Training

My path to dog training unfolded from a career in contemporary dance and academia, culminating in a Ph.D. in Performance Studies from UC Davis. My research explored how the skillful use of attention can shift bodily states and how practice brings about change. As a certified Somatic Experiencing® Practitioner and Polarity Life Coach, I apply this perspective in our training sessions, focusing on cultivating a strong, empathetic friendship between you and your dog.

  • Get relief

Learn strategies to reduce stress, improving the well-being of both you and your dog.

  • Build confidence

Encourage your dog’s natural strengths, replacing unwanted behaviors with ones that boost confidence.

  • Become a bonded team

Promote consistent, positive behaviors that meet emotional needs, setting the stage for a deeply bonded partnership.

  • Trust on both ends of the leash

With patience, kindness, and a step-by-step plan, we’ll build trust from both ends of the leash, promoting a safe, positive learning environment for pro-social behaviors and a stable, rewarding partnership.

About Me

DOG TRAINING & COACHING

Nicole Peisl

CTC, Ph.D. & SEP

Born and raised in Austria, I graduated from the Academy for Dog Trainers and am an active member of the Bravo!Pup training team. My journey to dog training evolved from a dynamic career in dance, teaching, and choreography, highlighted by my time performing professionally in Europe with the Ballet Frankfurt and the Forsythe Company. I also hold a Ph.D. in Performance Studies from UC Davis.

With an extensive background in somatic practices and certifications as a Somatic Experiencing® Practitioner and Polarity Life Coach, I apply this knowledge to forge connections and address the needs of both people and animals. My deep commitment to the transformative power of embodied practices is central to my work, aiming to bring about visible change. This dedication shapes my interactions with dogs and their owners, creating a caring and impactful training environment.

My immersion in dog training was inspired by my connection with Charlie, my cherished German Shepherd mix and rescue, and complemented by the insights from exceptionally dedicated dog trainers. These experiences have led me to a fulfilling convergence of my skills and passions, reinforcing my commitment to improving the lives of dogs and their human companions.
